From a base of law, Alex moved into political and national business journalism. Alex worked as a journalist both in Australia and the UK, and in Australia held senior capital city and national newspaper, radio and television newsroom positions.

Alex also held senior positions as a Federal and State political advisor, and from there moved into niche corporate advisory work, operating directly to CEOs and Boards and specialising in issues management, brand reputation and complex advocacy roles.
